Dogwood Cabin

Cabin Dogwood is no longer available to rent. Please consider one of our other cabins for your mountain getaway.

Bedrooms: 3 | Bathrooms: 2 | Maximum Occupancy: 8

Description: This beautiful pet-friendly mountain home is an amazing private getaway, with cedar wood siding indoors and out. Recently remodeled, and boasting a secluded location, our Dogwood cabin is nestled in the mountains completely by itself, with a wrap-around deck featuring beautiful views of the mountain woodlands.

You’ll have quick and easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, just 1 1/2 miles away; Wintergreen Ski Resort, at 3 miles away; and the Skyline Drive, which is 15 miles away. Take a hike or soak up some rays at nearby Sherando Lake. Tour the local wineries or breweries, or take in an authentic Shakespeare production at the Blackfriar’s Playhouse in Staunton.

Back at the cabin, sink into the cozy swing located on the deck, listen to the birds, and watch for deer wandering through the woods. Throw some steaks on the grill, and you’ll be relaxing in style.

If grilling isn’t your thing, the fully equipped kitchen features an open style, electric range, and plenty of counter-space. Eat at the dining room table, or take your meal outside to the deck.

As twilight falls and the stars come out, circle up around the outdoor fire pit, roast some s’mores, or lose yourself in the mesmerizing flicker of the dancing flames.

Don’t want to hang out by a campfire? Spend your evening in the screened porch, featuring another swing plus enough chairs for the whole gang.

When it’s time to retire, this three-bedroom, two bathroom cabin has room for up to eight guests. In the master bedroom you’ll be greeted by a plush queen-size bed and a private bathroom with a shower. In the second bedroom there are two twin beds and plenty of storage. The third bedroom is the loft overlooking the great room and the large stone fireplace. You’ll find a king-size bed and two twins up there.

Wake up early, grab your fishing pole, and head over to Sherando Lake in search of trout, largemouth bass, or bluegill. The early-morning fog over the lake is one of the most peaceful settings you’ll ever encounter. (Guests are responsible for fishing licenses and the minimal lake entry fee).

Load up the whole crew and visit the Museum of American Frontier Culture for a memorable experience of how life used to be in the Appalachian Mountains. This living history experience is sure to fascinate all ages. Follow it up with a stop at Kline’s Ice Cream to indulge in some sweet treats before heading back to the cabin. In hot weather, stop by the office for a quick dip in our community swimming pool.

Whether you’re into hanging out at the cabin or exploring all the local attractions, this stunning Virginia mountain cabin puts it all right at your fingertips.
