Civil War History – The Plumb House Museum

Enjoy Civil War history firsthand at the Plumb House, the oldest wooden building in Waynesboro.  The Plumb House, located at 1201 West Main Street in Waynesboro, was in the crossfire during the Battle of Waynesboro on March 2, 1865, when Union General Philip Sheridan took more than 1,500 Confederate soldiers prisoner during his campaign to Appomattox.

 

Learn more exciting facts and interesting history at the Plumb House, which is recognized on The Virginia Landmarks Register, the National Register of Historic Places, and Virginia Civil War Places.  This Civil War Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
