December is a great time to visit the Shenandoah Valley and explore the towns of Augusta County, Virginia. There are lots of great events taking place during this month, and the shops and stores (including some great antique malls) in our area in Staunton and Waynesboro are excellent places to shop for Christmas gifts and items to give your loved ones. A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, adapted for the stage by Jim Warren will be showing at the The American Shakespeare Center’s Blackfriars Playhouse all month and should be a great show to see if you are in town. Also, you can tour the Woodrow Wilson Birthplace mansion, and view the traditional Christmas decor that the home is decorated in.
