Natural Bridge Virginia

Natural Bridge in Virginia is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World! Billing itself as “Higher than Niagara, old as the dawn,” Natural Bridge is truly a WOW experience. There’s plenty of history at this 215-foot high and 90-foot wide marvel. George Washington surveyed the place in 1750 for Lord Fairfax, and carved his initials in the rock wall. You can still see them there! Just 24 years later, Thomas Jefferson paid 20 shillings to King George III for 157 acres, including the Natural Bridge.

At night, the Natural Bridge is transformed with a light and music show, making the stone appear to almost come alive. President Coolidge holds the honor of pushing the button and illuminate the national landmark for the first time on May 27, 1927.

Natural Bridge is one experience that everyone should have sometime in their life, as many of our guests do. At only an hour’s drive away, Natural Bridge is a perfect day trip when staying at Cabin Creekwood.
