Experience history in a powerful way at the Frontier Culture Museum, located in Staunton, VA. With costumed and well-informed actors playing the parts of the people of the times, no longer does history have to be boring! You’ll appreciate the informative and entertaining interaction. Ask questions, participate in events, and learn much more than browsing through static exhibits.
The Frontier Culture Museum consists of farms from different areas and eras, each containing buildings that were purchased in their homeland, disassembled, and moved to their current site on the museum grounds. You’ll explore farms from West Africa, England, Ireland, and Germany, then see how different attributes of each were merged into what is now known as the typical Appalachian Mountain Farm.
