Kayaking is a Great Way to Enjoy the Colors of Fall

Due to changes in Forest Service regulations and the enforcement of those regulations, Cabin Creekwood is no longer able to provide canoe and kayak rentals for Sherando Lake. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Fall Foliage is in full swing here at Cabin Creekwood, and what better way to enjoy the colors of fall than from a Wilderness Systems Tarpon Kayak floating on a lake or river.  We consider the Tarpon to be the best sit on top kayak available, and have three which we rent on a regular basis to guests and others.  Our kayaks are usually used on Sherando Lake, a nearby recreation area of the George Washington National Forest that is exceedingly beautiful.  They can also be taken to South River, or even the James or Shenandoah for a float trip down the river.

Of course there are plenty of other ways to enjoy the colors of fall.  Hiking, horseback riding, or even driving around in your car provide many opportunities to see this brilliant autumn display.  But there’s nothing quite like settling down into a kayak, and gliding peacefully along while looking and listening.

So give us a call if you’d like to reserve a kayak.  We’ll be happy to provide you with all you need, including paddles and life jackets.
